The Atlanta Falcons let go of Arthur Smith after another 7-10 season ravaged by injuries and poor performances in all three phases of the game. He did not wait long to get another job, however, as the Pittsburgh Steelers brought him in to run their offense. Perhaps without all the extra responsibilities of running a team Smith can get back to his roots that led him to success in Tennessee.

Two-time Super Bowl champion in Pittsburgh Bryant McFadden joined Dukes & Bell and said he is pumped to have Arthur Smith joining the Steelers. McFadden feels Smith will bring a fresh perspective to an offense that had been stagnant at best the last few seasons. It remains to be seen if the Steelers will hang on to their former first-round pick Kenny Pickett or bring in another quarterback via the draft or free agency.

Arthur Smith’s time in Atlanta will always be marred by inconsistencies and what could have been. Sparks would fly once in a while but the necessary steps to be a consistent offense were never able to be taken. He now gets a fresh start in Pittsburgh.
