The Atlanta Falcons have a lot of expectations coming into the season. They have a first year head coach in Arthur Smith who is charged with bringing some life back into the offense. They have a first time general manager in Terry Fontenot who is going to be the guy, at least for now, who traded away Julio Jones. Matt Ryan is charged with making this new regime look good because the Falcons had plenty of space and opportunity to replace him in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Now, Kyle Pitts may have the most to prove because the Falcons decided to not go with a quarterback with the number four overall pick. Tori McElhaney, of the Athletic, joined the Jon Chuckery show to talk about what Pitts' role could be in this offense. "He might come out and be that number two guy" McElhaney said.
Pitts is an uber-talented player that could be in line to be very productive in his rookie season. But to have an expectation that he could be a number two option in this new offense, might be too high of a bar for him.
