Can Falcons take advantage of their home schedule?

The Falcons starting the season strong with a win against the Carolina Panthers could be the start of Atlanta taking advantage of their home schedule.

A fair amount of the confidence of going into this season is due to the number of games the Falcons were able to win or lose by fewer than three points last season. After a 7-10 record last season and the number of players acquired in the offseason, the expectation is improvement that leads to a playoff run.

Of the seven games won last season, six of them were home games which has Eric Slaughter asking, how many home games could the Falcons win?

This season, the Falcons play the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Indianapolis Colts all at home. Without seeing much of these teams on the field so far, the current expectation of wins are based on the outcomes of last season and each team's changes and acquisitions during the offseason. The majority of the teams lost key players, added or changed coaching staff and some even changed ownership, potentially creating confusion on and off the field.

For that reason, Eric and Noel envision a home record of 6-2 and 7-1, respectfully. While Noel only sees the Vikings as a home opponent that could cause some trouble, Eric also sees a home game against the Saints as one that could be tricky because the Falcons and Saints love to spilt wins in the other's stadiums. But Eric agrees that the schedule is very favorable for the Falcon, but it's up to them to take advantage.
