Falcons RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson responded to questions about a viral video he posted showcasing a highlight reel of his plays. Many wondered if the move on social media was meant to send a message to Falcons’ brass that he felt he was not be used properly this season. He started the season dealing with a nagging injury and has received minimal usage thus far.
Patterson cleared the air Thursday saying he and Coach Smith have a “great relationship” and thanked him for bringing him to Atlanta when he was a free agent and not fielding many other offers. The issue, however, is that the video was posted without much context and left too much room for those viewing the montage to wonder why he posted it.
He went on say that ‘I wasn’t calling for the ball. It would be selfish of me.’ But that still leaves to question the exact nature of the reason for the post. Patterson has become a fan favorite in recent years and there have not been narratives questions his skillset this season.
