NFL Draft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah joined Dukes & Bell and talked about what he thought of the Falcons picks, and did the Falcons get two of the better offensive lineman in the draft?
When asked if he thinks both offensive line picks can be starters for the Falcons.
“I think so, I think both of them, Jalen Mayfield’s somebody that I liked more than others, I’ve readily admitted that. He was my 35th player, I think they got him somewhere in the late sixties, he’s somebody that on the tape is impressive, when you see him compete as a right tackle, he played pretty well against Chase Young the year before.” Jeremiah said “Just had a deploarable spring, was a little overweight and out of shape, he didn’t really crush the interview with teams, so I think that kind of caused him to drop a little bit. The kid can play, he’s young, he’s 320 pounds, he can move, I think he’s got a chance to be a starter whether that’s at tackle or kicking inside to guard he’s gonna immerse as a solid starting player.”
“I think Dalman was one of the better centers in the draft, he can really really move, he reminded me a little bit of Kelce when I was with Philadelphia and we picked him, we got Kelce in the sixth round that year. But Dalman here in the fourth round, he’s just really really smart, really tough, really athletic, there’s times when some size is going to get over his nose and he’s going to get beat up a little bit but they said the same thing about Kelce when we drafted him and he’s turned out to be a pretty darn good player.”
