The Atlanta Falcons brought in WR Darnell Mooney on a three-year, $39-million deal this offseason to be a significant contributor for the offense. He is proving his worth early on, specifically on the game-winning drive versus the Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Mooney grabbed two balls from Kirk Cousins that helped set up the touchdown pass to Drake London to put the team up for good, 22-21. Mooney was a favorite target of Cousins throughout training camp and that chemistry continues to build.
The former Chicago Bears receiver posted one 1,000-yard season during his time there. The Falcons saw that potential and so far their hypothesis has been proven correct. Mooney should continue to a featured weapon for the Falcons for the remainder of the season.
