The Tennessee Titans are in the midst of of cutting salaries in an attempt to get under the cap for 2023. One of those cap casualties could end up being Derrick Henry, via trade.
If the price is right, and the compensation isn't back-breaking, would Falcons fans like to see Derrick and Arthur Smith reunite in Atlanta?
Henry signed a four-year, $50-million deal ahead of the 2020 season, and his deap cap money would only be $4 million after this season, $2 million after the 2024 season.
Despite his downhill running style, Henry has proven to be extremely durable, only missing significant time in 2021 season. Last year in 16 games, he rushed for 1,538 yards and three touchdowns. And he's averaged 109 YPG the last four seasons.
Last season, Tyler Allgeier became the Falcons first 1,000-yard rusher since the 2016 season, and was the first Falcons rookie to do so since William Andrews in 1979. So, this team isn't devoid of talent in the backfield. Allgeier, CP84, and Caleb Huntley all proved to be capable runners at various points during last season.
Mark Zinno and Sandra discussed what bringing Henry to Atlanta would cost, and how you can never have enough talent at the running back position. Y
