Despite adding Jeff Okudah, Falcons could still take a CB at #8

The Atlanta Falcons added former top draft pick Jeff Okudah, who the Lions took with the #3 pick in 2020, and it has many people wondering if that trade could change the Falcons plans for this years' draft.

You can count 92.9 the Game Atlanta Falcons Reporter Joe Patrick among those who do still think that taking a corner in the first round could be on the table for the Falcons.

"I still wouldn't discount the possibility the Falcons go cornerback with their first pick. You've heard best player available and if that happens to be a corner I do still think they would go that route," says Joe Patrick. "I don't think Jeff Okudah is a guy who is going to come in and expect to fill the role of 2nd corner opposite of AJ Terrell. That's the hope. It certainly seems it'd going to be a defensive player."

If the Falcons did add another first-round corner to their defensive backfield, it would be full of them, as he'd join Jeff Okudah, AJ Terrell, and Mike Hughes as a group of corners who were taken with one of the first 32 picks in the NFL Draft.
