The Falcons were driving midway through the 4th quarter holding on to a 2-point lead over the Carolina Panthers with a chance to ice the game, but instead of leading a scoring drive, Desmond Ridder found a way to throw another red zone interception, perhaps the ugliest and costliest one of the season.
There's a lot to blame for the loss to the Panthers, play-calling certainly comes in to question, you could have run the ball knowing that Ridder has a propensity to turn the ball over in the red zone, but since the call was to throw the ball, it then falls on Ridder to not make a disastrous mistake, but that's exactly what he did, and the throw was such a poor decision that it has some wondering if he tried a no-look pass.
The late-game pick was Desmond Ridder's 10th interception on the season, among other QB's with 10 or more INT's this year, only Mac Jones and Josh Dobbs have fewer passing yards on the season or a lower passer rating.
