Did last night prove Falcons were right to not pick Jalen Carter?

Did last night show exactly why the Falcons should be happy they passed on Jalen Carter?

The Atlanta Falcons notoriously passed on the opportunity to draft Jalen Carter two years ago and he fell to the Philadelphia Eagles, but did last night's spitting incident vindicate the team's front office?

The Morning Shift discussed the topic on Friday morning and Mike Johnson has some thoughts.

"The first day we ever did this show, we talked about Jalen Carter and I said, 'I don't want him here,'" Johnson said. "My reasoning was, at his pro day, he looked bad and he cramped up. This is the biggest day of your life and this is the performance you put up?"

Carter has since delivered on some of his draft-day hype, finishing second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year vote in 2023 before taking his game to the next level in 2024. Last season, he reached his first Pro Bowl was named an All-Pro as the Eagles ran to the Super Bowl.

Instead of Carter, the Falcons opted to select Pro Bowl running back Bijan Robinson, who has also delivered on his draft-day hype in his own right. Did the Falcons make the right choice?
