Drake London has made several big plays this season to help the Falcons get to their 4-2 record heading into Sunday's matchup at home against Seattle. What is going on behind the scenes, apparently, is that London has taken on a new and evolved role in the offense in 2024.
For much of his career, London lined up as the "X" or No. 1 wide receiver outside for the Falcons. This season, he is being used in a more versatile role including lining up inside and being more involved blocking in the running game. Coach Raheem Morris joined Dukes & Bell and said London is being likened to the role Puka Nacua has with the Los Angeles Rams as offensive coordinator Zac Robinson came over from there in the offseason.
London has 38 receptions for 428 yards and four touchdowns through five games this season. He has already matched his career high in touchdowns for a single season and will look to have his first 1,000 yard receiving season.
