With the Falcons losing their grip on their playoff hopes after Sunday’s loss to the Commanders, as expected, Atlanta fans shared their frustration with the team’s collapse after getting off to an 6-3 start and having a firm grip on the NFC South, when they called in to express their displeasure with the result of Sunday’s game and the Falcons’ season.
And while the majority of fans agreed seeing the Falcons fall to 8-8 after such a promising start, there was surprisingly more calls of optimism than Sam Crenshaw and Greg Clarkston expected as they hosted The Morning Shift on Monday and took calls from listeners.
“You have to feel good about what is coming around the corner with this team,” Clarkston said as he and Crenshaw reacted to comments from the callers in which many shared optimisms for the future of the Falcons with Michael Penix Jr. as quarterback.
“It was the time to show up and this team was showing up,” Crenshaw added as he and Clarkston shared in the positive takeaways of the Falcons’ season despite the fact they will more than likely miss out on the postseason.
