Falcons GM Terry Fontenot stressed that “all options are on the table” when it comes to the NFL Draft. That sentiment appeared to ring true as the team will have interviewed nearly all of the presumptive top picks by week’s end at the scouting combine. Fontenot and Raheem Morris have been hard at work in Indianapolis and are set to meet with quarterbacks Jayden Daniels & Drake Maye after already speaking to Caleb Williams earlier in the week.
It remains unlikely that the Falcons will be able to move into the top three picks in the draft where those three quarterbacks may be taken off the board consecutively. But that did not stop the team’s brass from checking in on those signal callers as well as the top edge rushers in the draft in Jared Verse & Dallas Turner.
The Falcons could still pivot and trade for Bears QB Justin Fields, a fan favorite who would make his return to his home state. It remains to be seen which direction the team is leaning towards right now, however, a decision on Fields is expected to be made sooner rather than later.
