We’ve reached a point in the NFL where every award open to all positions seems to go the way of the quarterback. However, that might not remain the case this year in the Rookie of the Year category.

Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was the fourth-overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, but it’s reasonable to believe the former Florida Gator could surpass the top pick in the draft, Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawerence, depending on the success of the Falcons' season.

Nick Kayal believes this year’s Madden ratings are the signifier for this possibility even if betting odds are against it. Pitts is an 81 overall in Madden NFL 22 this year, the top rookie, followed by Trevor Lawerence who is 78 overall, Jaylen Waddle and Pat Surtain at 76 overall, and De’Vonta Smith at 75 overall rounding out the top five.
