Dukes & Bell reacted to the Falcons’ 2023 draft picks coming off a weekend full of surprises for the team and the entire NFL. The team’s fourth-round selection of former Utah CB Clark Phillips lll could be the steal of the draft not just for the Falcons, but the entire league.
“This kid's a playmaker. Play maker. Fourth-round pick, don’t get caught up in that. This kid was an impact player at Utah. He’s a game day player. You will see this young man making plays all over the field,” Carl Dukes explained.
Phillips’ small stature appears to be the main knock against him. At just 5’9” & 185 lbs, he projects much slighter than either AJ Terrell or Jeff Okudah, the Falcons two starting cornerbacks. The Utah product could be in the mix for the starting nickel spot if he shows out in training camp.
