As the Atlanta Falcons prepare for their second season under the direction of head coach, Raheem Morris, the team will look to rebound from a 2024 season which began with a lot of promise as they were predicted as a favorite to win the NFC South, only to end with the Falcons finishing the season at 8-9 and missing out on the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season.
On Monday, Carl Dukes and Mike Bell revisited their conversation with Tampa Bay Buccaneers reporter, Rick Stroud, who shared his thoughts on the Falcons and Bucs still being the top teams in the division, however noted Tampa Bay’s dominance, having won the NFC South the past four seasons, something both Dukes and Bell believe the Falcons must begin doing.
“We’ve should have won this division last year,” Dukes said as he and Bell discussed why they believe it was frustrating the Falcons came up short on expectations last season. “We were at a point in the season where I really was starting to look ahead,” Dukes added as he shared how the Falcons’ 5-0 start in the division led him to believe the team would eventually be crowned kings of the NFC South. “We blew it again,” Dukes added
“It should be us and the Bucs and I would be willing to say well we’re probably better than them., but I said that last year and we blew it,” Dukes continued as he and Bell expressed their concerns of the Falcons division title drought.
