Fans of the Atlanta Falcons have been through a lot in recent years. From six consecutive losing seasons to three different head coaches over that same span, it's been some tough sledding for the fanbase.
Newly minted Falcons head coach Raheem Morris was on with the Nightcap podcast and he said as much. He also discussed how this base will go all in if the team picks up their trust.
"I know the people that were here in 2016 and remember what that Dome felt like when we played Green Bay [and] that last game versus Seattle," Morris said in a clip played on The Steakhouse. "They know what it felt like inside that Dome. [The Falcons players] have to find a way earn that back."
The average Falcons fan needs this team to earn their trust, says Steak Shapiro, but this is also a city that will catch fire if and when that happens.
"[Atlanta] is dying to catch fire for the Falcons," Rusty replied.
The 2024 edition of the Falcons has a chance to find that next gear. The offense features several potential breakout stars in Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kirk Cousins, and Kyle Pitts. The defense, after some late-stage front office moves, has the potential to be one of the biggest risers in the NFL this season.
Now, the team must go out and earn it.
