After spoiling an opportunity last week against the New Orleans Saints to not only continue to assert their dominance in the NFC South, but also prove they’re real contenders in the NFC overall the Falcons have another chance this week against the Denver Broncos to prove they’re contenders and not pretenders. Former Atlanta Falcons Quarterback and now analyst for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network Dave Archer told The Morning Shift earlier today that the Falcons need to win on Sunday “if they want to be taken seriously”.
“If you want to be taken seriously you have to go win these kind of games. I think they’re more than capable of doing it.” Archer said.
Dave also talked about how the Falcons have played in a lot of favorable environments this season, talking about playing in domes and favorable weather, so Arch also talked about how this week is about the Falcons proving they can win in a tough road environment as well.
“You have to go out and you gotta go win some games in tough environments on the road.” Dave said.
Arch also said it best when he said “teams that want to go on and win a championship are not bothered by whatever the situation is, whether you have to travel a long way or whether you have to play in conditions”.
The Falcons have a chance to bounce back after a bad loss, and show that they’re still legitimate contenders, and that even if they’re playing on the road, in altitude, against a solid Broncos team they’ll still win because they’re the better team, and that’s what they’re supposed to do. Otherwise, maybe they aren’t the team everybody thought they were all along.
