CBS Sports NFL analyst Bryant McFadden joined Dukes & Bell Wednesday and talked about the Falcons moving on from Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff, what happened in New York with Le’Veon Bell, and what he would do if he was the new Falcons GM with the current roster?
McFadden talked about what he would do if he was running the Atlanta Falcons.
“I think the first important thing that I would do is find out who we want to be as an organization," said McFadden. "That’s the issue with so many organizations in the National Football League, they have no idea who they want to be. Do we want to be a finesse team who outscores you and outsmarts on both sides of the football, or do we want to be a team who is going to hit you dead in the mouth and kick you in the face?
“From where I come from we believe in kicking people in the face on both sides of the football. So who fits that identity currently that’s on our roster? Julio is a guy who is going to kick you in the face. I’m not trading Julio right now, he’s still in the prime of his career and he will kick you in the face. Ridley’s from South Florida so I know what type of attitude he has, he’s gonna kick you in the face.
"I know a lot of fans are not hyped about Matt Ryan, but I would still find a way to see if he has something left in the tank. Defensively, we need to overhaul the defense. Deion Jones, I’ll rock with, Grady Jarrett, he’s going to kick you in the face. I love Ricardo Allen, a savvy guy had to earn it. A lot these other guys I’m not quite sure they’re ready to kick you in the face. When you find what your identity is, now you know how to attack the personnel, now you know how to attack the personnel.”
