Why Nate Landman & Kentavius Street are Falcons most important free agents

The Morning Shift ranks the Falcons most important free agents & give their takes on who needs to come back

Raheem Morris has been introduced, most of his staff has been put together, and now it’s time for he and Terry Fontenot to pull the sleeves up and start the real work. One of the things Morris and Fontenot have to work on is deciding which free agents on the roster they will bring back. Earlier today, The Morning Shift debated which Falcons free agents are most important and need to be prioritized when it comes to re-signing their own free agents.

After Troy Andersen went down for the year in week two due to injury Nate Landman came in and played so well that there’s probably going to be a lot of conversation between Raheem Morris and Defensive Coordinator Jimmy Lake about how they are going to make sure they have prominent roles for not only Kaden Ellis and Troy Andersen, but Nate Landman as well. Landman racked up 110 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, forced three fumbles, deflected three passes, sacked the quarterback twice, and even had an interception last season too.

Kentavius Street was a trade deadline pickup for the Falcons and made an immediate impact before going down with a torn pectoral. A defensive line with Grady Jarrett, David Onyemata, Ta'Quon Graham, Zach Harrison, Kentavius Street, and maybe even Calais Campbell if he decides to play this year and return to the Falcons would be quite the defensive line rotation.

Speaking of Calais Campbell, Raheem and Terry trying to pursue Calais to comeback if he is going to play next season will be important. Jeff Okudah, Bud Dupree, and Mack Hollins are other important Falcons free agents that would be nice to have back, but you could argue that two younger guys in the prime of their careers who made immediate impacts this season in Nate Landman and Kentavius Street are the two most important free agents for the Falcons this offseason.
