Falcons O-Line Coach Dwayne Ledford: The guys want to be a “complete unit”

The Atlanta Falcons Offensive Line Coach tells The Morning Shift why this Falcons O-Line is "special"

Ever since Arthur Smith became Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons he has always put emphasis on the running game and now has given the Falcons an identity. However, with all the pass catching weapons Atlanta has this season the team is throwing the ball more, and Falcons Offensive Line Coach, Dwayne Ledford, told The Morning Shift that the mindset of the offensive line room is “whatever it is, we got to go get it done”.

Now, even though the Falcons offensive line has given up the fifth most sacks in the NFL this season at 20 the Falcons' offensive line allowed 16 sacks through the first four weeks of the season, and have just given up four sacks the last three weeks. Atlanta’s O-Line gave up just one sack last week and only seven pressures against Tampa Bay last Sunday, so there is clear improvement.

According to Pro Football Focus, Drew Dalman’s 90.1 run-blocking grade leads all centers in the NFL in 2023, and Chris Lindstrom was the NFL’s highest-graded offensive lineman in Week 7, with a 92.1 overall mark. Pro Football Focus had the Falcons offensive line ranked third in their week eight NFL Offensive Line rankings.

Looks like the Falcons offensive line is in fact becoming that complete unit.
