Former NFL GM Randy Mueller joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the Falcons situation with Julio Jones, and has the star wide receiver’s trade value been diminished?
When asked about the Falcons leverage in a Julio Jones trade.
“I think their leverage has diminished for sure,” Mueller said. “I think it diminished when the comments were said initially.
“To take him on at his salary that’s going to eliminate half the teams as well. It’s not like there is a giant bidding war out there for this guy, I just think the time, the place, where you are as a franchise it all dictates part of what you’re willing to put together to give to get him. Maybe it’s a team out west, Seattle doesn’t haven’t any first round picks, they don’t really value them, we know what the Rams and forty-niners have for first round picks, they all could put together a package to entice them but it’s gonna take future picks, and I don’t know if that’s what the Falcons are looking for.”
