It was reported earlier in the week that the Steelers had held discussions with the Miami Dolphins regarding a trade for tight end Jonnu Smith. It's also very clear the Steelers are waiting on the decision of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and it's been reported that Kirk Cousins is also on the radar. And finally, a third report came on Friday morning that multiple teams had reached out to the Falcons regarding tight end Kyle Pitts.
In a two-birds, one-stone situation, could the Steelers potentially try to entice the Falcons to part with BOTH Cousins and Pitts? It's a situation that could see Atlanta force the Steelers to pick up some extra portion of Cousins' salary in exchange for accepting a lower-valued pick for Pitts. Both teams could possibly feel like they won and got one over on the other franchise.
