How can Falcons 'win' this offseason?

The Atlanta Falcons have several critical decisions coming up this offseason and The Steakhouse discussed the most pressing moves that need to be made if this offseason is to be considered a “success.”

"What is a win for Terry Fontenot and this Falcons fan base?" Drew Butler asked Mark Zinno. "It's not only with the first-round pick, but do they trade back and get more? Do they select a Georgia player who might fall into that fifteenth-draft pick? Are the all-defense showings at the combine and 22 guys at Georgia Pro Day just gimmicky? What's a win for this organization over the next six weeks?"

Zinno was straightforward in his response. Chuckling, he said, "[It's about] somehow getting Kirk Cousins off the roster."

He continued, "Kirk doesn't want to be here. He wants to start, okay?"

For these guys, this is what will determine whether or not the 2025 offseason could be a success. Everything else is secondary.

"There should be nothing comfortable about letting $40 million sit against your cap that will provide you with zero production," Zinno said. "There's nothing comfortable about that."

Elsewhere, the Falcons have several pressing needs. They went and signed pass rusher Leonard Floyd and brought back several in-house guys, but it shouldn't stop them from continuing to spend on defense this offseason.

"If they don't take a pass rusher [in the NFL Draft] this fan base might revolt."
