As the Falcons continue their search for their next defensive coordinator the team must also consider the current roster construction. The question must be asked: just how many pieces on the roster are truly able to be built around? The team must use a keen eye to decide to returns and who has played their last down in Atlanta.

There are several "no brainer" options such as Jessie Bates and Kaden Elliss. Grady Jarrett will be another year removed from his major surgery and should be back to his usual Pro Bowl form. A.J. Terrell is locked up to a long-term deal. Outside of those players, no one should be considered safe to be on the roster in 2025 and beyond.

Several tough decisions will need to be made on players like linebackers Troy Andersen and Nate Landman. Lorenzo Carter may have suited up for the last time in Atlanta as well. Will the team bring back Mike Hughes after Clark Phillips failed to lock up the CB 2 spot? These are all tough questions the team will have to answer as they revamp their defense and coaching staff.
