Is NFC South already officially a two-horse race?

After putting up over 90 points in their first two games of the season, the New Orleans Saints have lost three straight games after dropping a Monday night's contest to the Kansas City Chiefs, a game in which quarterback Derek Carr left with an oblique injury. It almost seems as they have lost their offensive identity, and ability to run the ball. Now the Saints face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team that the Atlanta Falcons just handled to kick off Week 5.

Has the race to win the NFC South already been trimmed to two teams after only five weeks of football in the 2024 NFL football season? It sure seems so, especially with the Falcons already having won divisional games versus the Bucs AND Saints.

The Bucs have looked great through five weeks, and if they can find a way to beat the Saints in Week 6, they, along with the Falcons, will be sitting atop the NFC South with a pretty distinct advantage. Randy McMichael and Abe Gordon explore the NFC South more, and how it may have already become a two-horse race.
