The Atlanta Falcons stunned the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 17, and the performance of rookie safety Xavier Watts played a critical role in that. Watts finished a pair of interceptions, five tackles, and three passes defended.
Falcons Radio Network broadcaster Dave Archer joined the Morning Shift after the massive win to discuss the play of the rookie defensive back.
According to Archer, Watts, who started his college career as a wide receiver, has ball skills that would be the envy of most defensive backs.
"It starts with his ball skills, he just understands how to track the football," Archer said. "He's a pretty good tackler, and he's got over 80 tackles... He's still continuing to learn, so we're not even close to seeing what he could potentially be."
The Falcons will finish their season on Sunday afternoon against the New Orleans Saints at 1:00.
