The Atlanta Falcons kickoff their 2020 season when the Seattle Seahawks come to town on Sunday. No fans will be in attendance.
Quarterback Russell Wilson provides an early test for the Falcons defense who added DE Dante Fowler in the offseason as well as rookie cornerback A.J. Terrell. DE Takk McKinley is also looking for a bounce-back season after his 5th-year option was declined.
Offensively, there are still questions remaining along the offensive line. Can they keep Matt Ryan upright? What will they look like with the addition of RB Todd Gurley?
Andy and Randy of the Midday Show break down their keys to a Falcons win.
Andy: Alex Mack and the offensive line have to find a way to get to the second level to get to the likes of Seattle's Bobby Wagner. Defensively, DE Dante Fowler must find a way to sack Russell Wilson. He has had success against their O-line before. They've also got to take advantage of any mistakes the Seahawks make; pick up the fumble, get the interception.
Randy: The Falcons have to find a way to run the football with Todd Gurley. In order to do that, the offensive line needs to find a way to pick up key blocks to make that happen. Defensively, the line needs to find a way to put Seattle's offensive line in Russell Wilson's lap.
