A CBS Sports article dropped on Thursday night that has captured the attention of Falcons’ nation. Kirk Cousins, a free agent, said in an interview that he would be open to the idea of playing for Bill Belichick. The six-time champion is currently the favorite to land the Falcons head coaching job, so there is presumably now a possibility that Cousins comes to Atlanta as well.
The reaction on social media and on TV & radio has been mixed to that idea. Cousins has been a top-tier quarterback the last handful of seasons. Cousins has averaged 4,000 yards passing, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions since joining the Vikings. Those numbers put him in line with the best quarterbacks in the entire league.
Kirk Cousins paired with a stout offensive line and offensive weapons like Bijan Robinson & Drake London could make for a special combination. A resurgent and healthy Kyle Pitts only adds to the equation. A Belichick and Cousins combo in Atlanta needs to be applauded and anticipated for Falcons fans.
