The Falcons hold the #8 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and with mock drafts all over the place, some wonder if the Falcons may end up taking a QB in the first round.
The Falcons had a plan in place under Matt Ryan where he would serve as mentor to a rookie QB, but once he was traded there were some questions about if free agent QB Marcus Mariota would be the right guy to help develop a younger guy.

"Absolutely no better person in the league," says NFL Network Analyst Charles Davis when asked if Mariota is the right type of guy to serve as a mentor if the Falcons were to draft a QB. "I absolutely think he'd be a quality mentor and I know he's been stung, a lot of guys would come out and go forget it, you're on your own, it's just not how this kid is wired. He'll be a terrific mentor and teammate while trying his best t make his career come again,"
Mariota was asked by the media about the possibility of the team drafting a QB and responded as one might expect from a leader in his position.
