After a disappointing season-opening loss to the Steelers, the Atlanta Falcons bounced back with 22-21 win over the Eagles on Monday night thanks to a two-minute drive that led to the eventual game-winning touchdown pass from Kirk cousins to Drake London.

While the Falcons were able to pick up what some believed to be a must-have win, the improved overall offensive play was worth noting as The Morning Shift discussed with Atlanta Falcons Radio Network color analyst Dave Archer on Tuesday.

“They cleaned up a lot of stuff and we talked about it a great deal about how they’re going to be exponentially better in this game, just from a pride standpoint you’re going to come back and you’re going to play better,” Archer said as he shared his thoughts on seeing a better offensive output from Cousins and the Falcons after their play in last week’s loss. Archer noted he believes the offensive line in particular wanted to make a statement this week.

“I think that the offensive line, which kind of got over looked a little bit as the backbone of this team because everybody was coming back on that unit, didn’t play to their capabilities and I think they took it upon themselves to say, ‘hey we’re going to get our quarterback comfortable’, and not only that we’re going to shove a guy named Bijan Robinson and another guy named Tyler Allgeier at you and see if you can handle it,’" Archer added as he praised the Falcons for their run game attack against the Eagles.
