Ray-Ray McCloud’s release means more Bijan Robinson at receiver

Yesterday the Atlanta Falcons announced that they released wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, and while this does create a void in the Falcons receiver room earlier today The Morning Shift explained why this move for the Falcons can also create an opportunity to get their best player the ball more.

“I think this is definitely an opportunity where you can put Bijan [Robinson] in receiving situations, maybe a little bit more, and again this can be an opportunity to get him the ball more.” Dylan Mathews said

Beau Morgan also pointed out that Bijan has been running McCloud’s routes since Ray-Ray has been out.

“Bijan Robinson has been running his routes the last two games. He’s played Ray-Ray’s role in passing situations, go back and look they’ve had [Tyler] Allgeier in the game or [Charlie] Woerner in the game in the blocking type situations and when they wanted Ray-Ray on the field Bijan Robinson has been out there you just gotta go watch the tape.” Beau said

Obviously the Falcons don’t want to overuse Bijan and have him at a greater risk of getting injured, but even though having to release Ray-Ray wasn’t in Atlanta’s plans they can make the most of an unfortunate situation by using it as an opportunity to find more creative ways to get who Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris calls the best player in the NFL.
