In the last three games between the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers the two teams have combined for 181 rushing attempts for 896 yards. The Panthers are averaging 153.6 rushing yards per game in their last three meetings with Falcons, and Atlanta is averaging 145 rushing yards per game in their last three games against Carolina. Why are these numbers important? The Morning Shift explained why earlier today.
While a wet and windy game might benefit the Falcons because of their ability to run the ball, the same could be said for the Panthers as well, especially if David Onyemata and/or Kentavius Street aren’t able to play. Sunday’s game could very well be decided by whichever team can do a better job slowing down the other team’s run game, and also complete some big passes downfield offensively to open up and stretch out the other team’s defense.
