Falcons' 1 TD vs. Saints in 2 games shows 'disappointing' lack of preparedness

Why can't Koetter figure it out?

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off of another embarrassing loss against the New Orleans Saints. It was more of the same for the Dirk Koetter-led offense.

They were finally able to convert in the red zone with a Matt Ryan touchdown pass to Russell Gage. But they botched the other three opportunities they had down there. Ever since Raheem Morris has taken over as the interim head coach, the defense has gotten better. But the one thing that has consistently stood out, ever since October 11, is this offense struggling to score touchdowns.

The Saints didn't do anything special on defense in the first matchup so the consensus was that Koetter was going to figure out the guys in black and gold.

Tori McElhaney, of The Athletic, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to help explain why it was a rinse-and-repeat performance for the Falcons.

"When you look at how much time the Falcons had to prepare for the Saints and what they were able to do, or more accurately not do, through those two games, it is disappointing," McElhaney said.

The Falcons only scored one touchdown in two games against their division rival. With all of the familiarity the Falcons have with the Saints, one has to wonder what type of preparation actually went in to this game based off of the actual results on the field.
