The Atlanta Falcons finally decided to hit the reset the button as a franchise. They traded Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts for a 2022 third round draft pick.
To fill that spot, Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith decided to go Marcus Mariota, someone who Smith is familiar with, as Ryan’s replacement. The question now for the Falcons organization is who will be Ryan’s replacement as the face of the franchise.
Emily Austen, of Liberty University, joined the Jon Chuckery show to discuss a potential replacement for Matt Ryan. “He was told when he was at Auburn that he was not going to have a future at the quarterback position,” Austen said. Malik Willis is an interesting case with a lot to prove. He is from Atlanta, he’s athletic, and has plenty of upside.

With the Falcons having the eighth overall pick, they will have their pick if that’s the route they want to go. The scouting department will have to do their homework on Willis to see if he can be the next face of the franchise.
