It’s no secret the Hawks are looking to be aggressive this NBA off-season and make moves to improve their team. How they tweak the roster and what acquisitions they look to make seems to be the question.
So what players make this Hawks team better? Here are three players the Hawks should look to acquire this offseason.
jaylen brown
The Hawks should do whatever it takes to pair Jaylen Brown with Trae Young. Not only is Brown from Atlanta, he and Young feel like a more natural and fluid pairing considering the positions and style of play. Brown provides wing scoring and defense to go along with his tough and aggressive mentality.
Deandre Ayton
Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton is next on the list. Young is one of the best passers in the NBA and is exceptional in the pick and roll. Ayton is a big with good footwork, moves his feet well on the defensive end, and has a soft touch around the rim. Ayton would flourish in the pick and roll with Young. Ayton may not be a prolific scorer, but he would make this Hawks team better on a multitude of levels.
Pascal Siakam
Toronto’s star forward Pascal Siakam is another player the Hawks should look to explore adding to their roster. Siakam averaged 24 points per game to go alongside 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in the 22-23’ season. Siakam also provides exceptional defense which includes tremendous versatility. Siakam would instantly improve this Hawks team and compliment Young’s game from the start.
Whether it’s Brown, Ayton, or Siakam, the Hawks would have to give up a lot of their current roster to acquire any of these players. However, aggressiveness is a proven ingredient to win an NBA Championship. Complimenting Trae Young with another star and depth is exactly what this Hawks team needs going forward.
