After latest blown lead, pretty clear Nate McMillan wasn't Hawks only problem

For half of Sunday's afternoon matchup between the Hawks and Spurs, Atlanta looked to be riding some momentum after a good home win over Golden State, but the second half told a different story and the Hawks ended up losing to San Antonio despite being up 24-points early in the 3rd quarter.

Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael were nearly at a loss for words while trying to understand exactly what happened and why the Hawks can't seem to avoid these letdowns.

"It's a mediocre basketball team. They've been within one game of .500, either above or below, for 25 games, that's the definition of mediocrity" says Andy Bunker. "They've been a really fun offensive team and a horrible defensive team, and when you're a horrible defensive team, even if you score 80 points in the first half, you can lose any night. Right now it's an average collection of talent that needs upgrades. People thought Quin Snyder had a magic wand, and he was going to take this team from being mediocre to being better than that."

"You can do some different type things, but this ain't working. It's had it moments, but now it's time to move on and upgrade," said Randy McMichael. "The fact that they lost the way they lost, to who they lost to, coming off an impressive Friday night game, they're more who they are now than they were when they went to the Eastern Conference."

The Atlanta Hawks fell back below .500 with the loss (35-36) are just a half-game up on the Raptors for the 8th seed, and will have a back-to-back coming up as they host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday and travel to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
