The Atlanta Hawks clinched their first playoff spot since 2017 with a 120-116 come-from-behind win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
Hawks Radio Network's Mike Conti joined the Midday Show to talk about the one move general manager Travis Schlenk made that put the Hawks in this position.
"That was firing Lloyd Pierce on February 28 because that saved the season," Conti told Andy and Randy.
"It was a move that was controversial at the time and not very well-received by some, especially in the national media. But that move saved the season."
"When Nate McMillan took over as the interim head coach of this team, the Hawks were 14-20 and 11th in the East; not even in position to get a play-in berth."
