The Atlanta Hawks have been hit by injury about as hard as any team in the entire NBA, and free-agent acquisition Bogdan Bogdanovic is the latest member to miss games.

Bogdanovic suffered an avulsion fracture to his knee along with a bone bruise.

The Hawks have been relatively silent about a timeline for his return, which made fans wonder how long they'd be without the sharp-shooter.

Injury Expert Will Carroll joined John and Hugh and explained what an avulsion fracture is and if it heals similarly to other types of fractures.

"In most cases you just have to wait for it to heal," says Carroll. "There’s a bone bruise there as well. So you’re looking at six to eight weeks like most fractures. It tends to heal up and heal up very well."
