Golden State Warriors' Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. How long he'll be out for is the big unknown at this point.

Thompson is set to become a free agent on July 1. With Kevin Durant also reported to miss off of next season after suffering an Achilles injury, how will it impact Klay's next contract?
Klay certainly deserves to get a max-contract but if the Warriors don't offer it to him, should the Hawks swoop in?
"The fact that Klay Thompson has ACL injury right now, doesn't change my interest in him at all," Andy Bunker said. "It makes it maybe more possible that you could actually get him to consider it. And if he would, I'll sign him to a max-contract right now with the Hawks; misses half of next year or whatever and then he comes back, you get three and a half years of Klay Thompson. That's better than zero years with Klay Thompson."
Hawks GM Travis Schlenk has a relationship with Klay from his time as the Warriors' Assistant GM.
"(Hawks GM) Travis Schlenk knows Klay," Randy McMichael said. "Klay's agent will pick up the phone for Travis Schlenk. Travis, make that call. Just to see...make them say know at least."
