As far as the Atlanta Hawks are concerned the trade rumors swirling around the franchise are in high gear, as the team will look to improve the roster and team headed into 2022-23 season.

One name is this consistently apart of the rumor mill is Hawks PF John Collins.

Collins, 24, will be entering year two of his 5-year, 125 M contract extension when the new season begins. But will he be in a Hawks uniform on NBA opening night in October?

As far as trade rumors go, when you read or hear some, they seem to make more sense than others, an according to Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin, there are a few rumors that are just plain absurd.

“I would say starts with Bull and ends with ….” laughed Koonin when asked by Dukes & Bell about an internet rumor that mentioned Collins being traded to the Portland Trailblazers for the seventh overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. (June 23)

Koonin went to further explain how some of these rumors seem to be so unrealistic.

“We have unsubstantiated rumors, from unnamed people about an unnamed trade” expressed Koonin when being candid about what he thinks about the so called rumors.

The reality of the Hawks making some big moves during the next several months seem very likely, but the names, places, and outcomes will take time to develop.
