The Atlanta Hawks finished their season losing to the Boston Celtics in six games in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Although it was a loss, there were plenty of positives to takeaway from it.
You have a star in Trae Young, young valuable assets, and a great coach in Quin Snyder. But what will take the Hawks to the next level? Atlanta needs another star. The Hawks need to go all in on the offseason and look to make a splash.
Nobody should be paying closer attention to the second round of the Eastern Conference matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers than Atlanta. Jaylen Brown is a star in this league, but the fit doesn't seem quite right in Boston. Brown is not only a star, he is from Atlanta as well.
As I stated on my show, "Playing it small is not going to win big." If the Hawks want to change their pattern, they have to change their approach. If the Hawks are able to acquire Brown, they will instantaneously be one of the favorites to come out of the East.
Brown would be a seamless fit and would solve a lot of the problems the Hawks roster is facing while simultaneously making a competitor in Boston worse. Brown is not the only star the Hawks should look to acquire, but he is certainly a prime example of what the Hawks should look to do this offseason.
