The Hawks beat the Orlando Magic 111-99 to end a two game losing streak and also extend the road winning streak to five games after starting the season 1-8 away from home.
Possibly more significantly, the Hawks held on to a 2nd half lead and actually extended the lead in the 3rd and 4th quarter despite losing Trae Young for a portion of the game after he was accidentally hit in the face.
The win came at the perfect time as the Hawks lost a pair of winnable games against Brooklyn and Houston and were in desperate need of going back to the drawing board and getting the season back on track.
The defense was the focus of what was wrong with the Hawks down the stretch in games and after giving up 44 points in the final quarter against Houston on Monday, the Hawks held Orlando to just 49 points in the entire second half.
The Hawks will have a chance to prove that Wednesday's win wasn't a fluke when they host Denver on Friday night.
