Hawks beginning to reach potential under Quin Snyder
When the Atlanta Hawks made the decision to trade Trae Young to the Washington Wizards and focus on the future with their core of young players including Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels and Onyeka Okongwu, they were below .500 and ninth in the Eastern Conference when the Young trade reports surfaced.
Fast forward to now and the Hawks have been one of the best teams in the NBA as they finished the month of March with a 13-2 record and have won 17 of their last 20 games, moving above the play-in line, currently sitting fifth in the conference as of this article.
“Should we be giving Quin Snyder more credit than he is getting for how well the Hawks are playing since moving on from Trae [Young],” 92-9 The Game’s Mike Bell asked as he and Abe Gordon discussed whether Snyder should be at the center of more conversations in regards to the Hawks turnaround.
“I do think he has helped provide this team with something unexpected,” Gordon said in response, noting that while believes Snyder is undoubtedly instrumental to Atlanta’s sudden emergence, he believes the team’s intent was to make improvements t the roster for the 2026 season and beyond.Hawks beginning to reach potential under Quin Snyder
