One thing Trae Young has shown throughout his career in Atlanta is that he has a flare for the dramatic. That was one full display last night as he made a game-winning assist to Dejounte Murray as the team took a 120-119 lead and eventual victory over the Orlando Magic in Mexico City. Young finished with 41 points and at one point during the contest even looked like he could be in line for a historic night before cooling off in the second half.

The Hawks (5-3) look like a totally different team than the one that started 0-2 to begin the season. Young has yet to find his rhythm shooting, especially from three-point range, but he has still been a main contributor to their hot start. Once he can start shooting more consistently the sky becomes the limit for this team. Their next match will be a test at home against a Miami team that they’ve battled with numerous times in recent years.

Young finished the contest 12-27 from the floor and just 5-15 from three. Those lines have been seen far too often in the early going and even a modest increase in shooting percentage will go a long way for this team. One thing remains, however, whatever the numbers show Trae Young can come up big in the biggest moments.
