Just when you thought they may slow down for a little while, the Atlanta Hawks made headlines once again on Monday when they signed Nickeil Alexander-Walker to a four-year, $62 million-dollar deal and Luke Kennard to a one-year, $11 million-dollar deal, with both moves creating more buzz about Atlanta’s upcoming season as they continue to be a favorite to contend for the Eastern Conference title.
“The moves that they have made even with Porzingis, the draft pick and then these other additions, man I’m super and crazy excited,” FanDuel Sports Network, Atlanta Hawks analyst and former NBA player, Brian Oliver, said on Tuesday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to share his thoughts on the Hawks recent moves and how competitive they can be, especially if they can remain healthy throughout the season.
“With the Hawks’ additions, you also have to factor in the health part because that has been the real major key for this team. If they can stay healthy, you know that they can beat anyone in the league,” Oliver said as he explained why he believes it will be important for key Hawks players like Jalen Johnson, who missed 46 games last season, to remain healthy as he believes they have a great chance to be atop the Eastern Conference.
