Why it's clear some coaches are keeping Trae Young out of All-Star Game

This isn’t the first time Trae Young has been an All-Star snub, but this year feels like the most outrageous snub of his career. Young joined a list with Russell Westbrook, Michael Adams, and himself as players in NBA history to average 22 plus points per game and 10 plus assists per game and not be an All-Star. Trae averaged just over 26 points per game and just over 10 assists per game back in 2023 and was also an All-Star snub that season. Why does Trae keep getting snubbed? Earlier today, The Morning Shift gave their explanation.

“How much of this comes back to the fact that coaches stick together in the NBA and they don’t like the fact that the way it went down between Lloyd Pierce and Trae and Nate McMillan and Trae, and look you can tell me it ain’t fair, hell i’m telling you it’s not fair, but the reality is is there’s no other reason to keep Trae Young off unless you don’t like him.” Beau Morgan said.

Beau continued by saying “You’re telling me it’s about winning, or is it the fact that he pissed off some coaches with his relationship with Lloyd Pierce and Nate McMillan and all of a sudden now you’re gonna tell me that it’s about winning? No, I think this has to do with the fact that they don’t like him, it’s personal.”

After how things ended with Lloyd Pierce and Nate McMillan Trae was profiled by some as a “selfish” player and a “coach killer”, and despite however Trae may or may not have handled situations in the past with his previous coaches it’s not fair to put those labels on a 19 year old rookie in the NBA, and it’s certainly not fair to keep those labels on a 26 year old man who has clearly matured.

Trae should be judged by his statistics and his play and those things show he’s an All-Star, and since he’s not an All-Star again this year that just goes to show that NBA All-Star voting now has politics and agendas attached to it, and that’s not fair to the players or fans.
