Atlanta United travels down to South Florida to face Inter Miami on Saturday night and a familiar foe awaits them, Josef Martinez.
Josef, who scored 111 goals for Atlanta United in 158 appearances, was traded last offseason, and has struggled so much in Miami that it has Atlanta United Analyst Mike Conti wondering if he'll even crack the lineup to face United.
"Josef's been benched. Josef has had a lousy season to this point for Inter Miami. Phil Neville, the Inter Miami Coach finally benched him and the guy that came in to replace him scored two goals and was MLS Player of the Week," says Mike Conti. "How could you NOT start Josef against Atlanta United? I think there's a slight chance that Josef is coming off the bench."
So far since joining Inter Miami, Josef has appeared in 8 games and has yet to score a goal or tally an assist.
