On day two of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons not only made their second selection of the draft, they traded up to 38, send their 44th pick and their 110th pick to the Colts and took Syracuse offensive lineman, Matthew Bergeron. Bergeron started 32 consecutive games at left tackle for Syracuse, however, 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery spoke with ESPN/Atlanta Falcons writer, Michael Rothstein about the possibility of the Falcons using Bergeron at the guard position.
“Do you think they potentially kick him inside and at least give him a looksee there?” Chuckery asked Rothstein in regards to how Atlanta could utilize the second round pick. “To me the obvious is that you move him in and make him a guard,” Rothstein responded to Chuckery adding that Bergeron did play some at that position during the senior bowl. “that’s the logical starting place for him,” Rothstein continued, stating that the Falcons would also want to make the move sooner than later due to the fact that the move would be helpful because of the experience he does have at the position.
