The Arizona Cardinals are in the market for a new general manager and head coach -- and they may soon be seeking a new No. 1 wide receiver.
The rebuilding franchise is poised to make three-time All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins available via trade once the offseason commences, according to Jordan Schultz of Fandsided.
Hopkins, who will be 31 next season, has two years remaining on his current deal, but could be seeking a healthy raise to keep him more in line with the top players at his position, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
That could put Hopkins and the team on divergent timelines, since the new front office and coach may want to revamp some or all of the roster, presumably excepting for franchise quarterback Kyler Murray, whose status for next season is unclear after he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL earlier this month
Hopkins has spent the past three seasons in Arizona after he was acquired via trade from the Houston Texans, the team that drafted him 27th overall in 2013. He played at a superstar level in his first season in the Valley of the Sun, tallying 1,407 yards and six touchdowns on 115 receptions, but injuries and a six-game PED suspension have limited him to 19 of a possible 34 games in the two years since.
